Stage
One aims to support and encourage new producers in the commercial
theatre. In today's tough financial environment,
producing and raising investment for a theatre production has
become ever more difficult and complex. New producers are the
future lifeblood of the industry and Stage One is committed
to nurturing new talent and sustaining the future of quality
theatre in this country.
Stage One supports new producers in three main ways.
Bursaries
The bursaries scheme provides financial and practical assistance
to new commercial theatre producers with a view to furthering
their careers. Recipients are able to use the bursary to develop
and present new productions, mentored by an established industry
figure.
Workshop
The three-day workshop is an intensive course specifically designed
for those who have not previously produced commercial plays,
or have only limited experience, but have a firm commitment
to a career in theatre production. Sessions are conducted by
leading industry practitioners
So,
you wanna’ be
a producer?!
This is a guide for commercial theatre producers, designed to
provide new producers with an introduction to the basic skills
and knowledge they will need to produce a play on a commercial
basis.
