Q: What training should I be thinking about this Autumn?

A: Let’s face it, we can’t be perfect all the time and occasionally we need some helpful training to develop our faultless producer skills! If you’re just starting out at producing Stage One will be holding an Introduction to Producing focusing on Touring Theatre on Tuesday 14th November at the Birmingham Hippodrome (book here). For £50 I think this is a bit of a bargain but then again I’m hugely bias! Another organisation to check is the ITC, they have a variety of day courses to suit anyone starting out in the Arts (link here).
Probably the most recognised training organisation for theatre is UK Theatre (link here). With a huge variety of courses available to members or non-members the ones to look out for this autumn are Co-Productions on the 27th Nov, Negotiation Skills 6th Oct and for the more experienced General Manager the Frontline & Off Stage conference 9th & 10th Oct.
Stage One Alumni Nick Hennegan will also be running an Introduction to Creative Producing on the 14th Oct (book here). So there really is no excuse to jazz up those grey autumn days by learning some new tricks! Why not let us know how you felt the training courses went by tweeting us @StageOneNewProd.
