About Placements

Stage One Producer Placements offer unique hands-on training and development opportunity for outstanding entrepreneurial individuals in London producing offices and regional producing venues.

We believe that the best way to hone your skills as an emerging producer is to learn within a dynamic and practical environment. The trainee producer takes on some of the responsibilities of a Production Assistant, but will also be provided with training from an experienced mentor within the host organisation. We offer two types of trainee producer placements: the London Placement and the Regional Placement.

In 2018, we funded 6 London placements and 4 regional placements. Each role requires the candidates to be able to demonstrate a dedication to a career as an independent commercial theatre producer with at least 1-2 years’ experience in theatre or producing.*

Previously we have placed trainee producers in leading producing offices such as Sonia Friedman Productions, Playful Productions and Ambassador Theatre Group and in thriving regional theatres such as Mercury Theatre, Leeds Playhouse and Bristol Old Vic.
