Three Day New Producers' Workshop

Twice a year Stage One run a three day workshop for New Producers'. If you have ever wondered how to get a show from conception to a West End stage, then this is the course for you!  Over the three days you will cover all aspects of putting on a commericial production from; marketing & pr, to contracting, budgeting, rights, raising funds & looking after investors to equip you with all the tools you need to produce.  

Applications for the Spring workshop are now closed.  Details of the Autumn workshop are below - applications will open on Tuesday 17th July.

FAQs

The three days cover all aspects of “how to put on a West End show”. The topics covered include: Overall Financial View of Productions; Setting Up Producing Entities’ & Acquiring the Rights for a Play; Touring & Co-Producing with a Regional Theatre; Speed Networking; Royalties; Tax Relief; Marketing; Raising Funds & Looking After Investors; Contracting West End Theatres and How to Engage with Stage One in the Future.

There will also be many opportunities to network with delegates and industry professionals.

We start all three days around 9am every morning. Thursday ends at around 8pm, Friday will end at 10pm and Saturday’s presentation will finish at 12pm however you will also attend a matinee performance on the Saturday afternoon so depending on the show you will leave around 5pm on Saturday.

It is vital you are prompt and attend all presentations scheduled. You will have the option of not attending the Saturday matinee performance but unfortunately we will not be able to issue a refund for this.

The cost of the workshop is £425 but we do have assistance funds in place to offer a 50% discount for producers who meet the following criteria: I am 25 or under at the time of the course in question; I earn an annual salary or income of £18,000 or under and I am dedicated to a career as a theatre producer. Please be aware we only have a select amount of funds to award once your application has been accepted.
